Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news site, is a television personality as well as a writer and philanthropist. After moving from Greece to England from Greece at the age of 16 and obtaining an MA in Economics at Cambridge University. The first graduate who was not from the UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. A conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to run as an independent candidate during the California recall election to replace the then governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of a Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes listed her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as at 12th place on their list. The Guardian also included her to the list of 100 most influential media outlets in the year 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father, it was their bond which shaped her. She was a leader from the beginning. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the first woman to hold the position of president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. She became a writer, a critic as well as a host on TV and columnist upon her graduation. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She started writing books, taking his help in editing.
