April Ross
April Ross was one of the few female beach volleyball athletes who earned medals during more than one Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to earn her third gold medal. Ross is also hoping to win her first Olympic medal. There is a chance that it is her last opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. The athlete is optimistic she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best and even play well, she believes the team will be able to win the gold medal. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. Ross's athletic endeavors was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of sports. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball, as well as basketball, running and track. However she was clearly a cut above the rest when it came to the second sport. As per her biography in high school, she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began their partnership in 2017, but Ross was a beach scene celebrity for a long time prior to. She has won major tournaments twice with different partners. The other has become an icon in the world of volleyball. Ross teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's personal trainer. Together, Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning a world title in 2009. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team who took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, beat each other to take home the gold medal. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she announced her retirement. The team won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a player for the Trojans at USC during her college years after she graduated high school. The time she spent at USC was an impressive one. She was an All-American as well as Pac-10 freshman of the year in 2000 as a young freshman. The Trojans were also able to reach the Final Four with her help. In her sophomore season, she experienced a terrible personal tragedy, but earned the distinction of being an All-American. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title each year. As an individual Ross established her status as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players across the country. Ross was a USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross never saw her daughter achieve the heights of beach volleyball. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. She is devoted to her parents who passed away. Margie is a constant source of inspiration for her at and off the beaches.
